Nailed It Workbench + FREE TUTORIAL GIVEAWAY

Hello Friends!

I have had the privilege of designing another 3D box which is geared to a handyman. This design is based on the Nailed It stamp set, and had so much fun making it. If you have not purchased this set, get it now as we really don't know if this set is being carried over for the 2017-2018 catalogue.

When I started thinking about how to bring this set in, I was thinking about what do men do with their tools, so I went to the garage and started lurking around my husband's workbench and this is how this design came about.

I like how he organizes his tools for easy find and I brought in the same concept with the peg boards on my workbench.

I used Silver Foil along with the hexagon embossing folder and attach it to the front base of the box.

Then I stamped the Very Vanilla cs with Hardwood stamp set with Soft Suede Classic Ink to create the bench part and decorated it with the Urban Underground Embellishments.

To top it all with the designing, was figuring out how it can hold thank you cards as well as birthday cards for guys. The opening is big enough to even hold a cookie, card and a gift card.

Here are the cards that coordinated with the workbench.

This card is a special fun fold card that uses the Tarnished Foil Technique. Inside holds a fun fold HB2 YOU.

Ready? Want to win an awesome gift box tutorial + cards for your handyman! Please like my FB Page https://www.facebook.com/lizhollowaydesign/, share or add a comment below. The draw will be May 8, 2017 when I return from Cuba.

I will be celebrating my 50th birthday there. The pattern will be available for purchase on May 8 too.

April CCDT Blog Hop: Spring/Easter

Hello Friends!

Today we are excited to present a new crew member to the CCDT. Please help me welcome Laurence Mirman!

This girl has talents! She blew me away with this 3D Hot Air Balloon, Love is in the Air, when she won my blog hop file in January.

What is amazing was that she cut this file using just scissors, and no e-cutter!! OMG! Just love when my files go into bloom. If you have not tried any of my files, be sure to read all the way to the end. All my patterns are full size so that you can print them to your printer onto the card stocks.

For my partake in the CCDT monthly Blog Hop! Is it Spring or Easter?

For my hop, I chose to do a combo of the two.

I had left over pieces from my hot air balloon while filming and decided to hack the balloon piece to create an eggshell-like form (at this stage I really didn't know what to do but to go with the instinct and not think).

I am not good at mixed-media so I dabble here and there, and using what I have on hand. The above image is covered with gesso paint as I wanted to use the dylusion sprays I have because they are bright in color when the paint dries.

I did have pictures of the sprayed images, but it was blurry to show them on my blog. The shell was sprayed like dyed eggs.

I added a chick in the shell, and placed her on top of the custom box.

Here is what I came up with Spring / Easter. The "Happy Easter" in front of the box is created with my e-cutter in basic black cs.

The box is cut in Thick Whisper White cs and decorated the panels with Animal Party Designer Series Paper.

Here is what you need to do.
Want a copy of the box pattern? Just add a comment and provide me with your email address. Be sure to indicate whether you want the SVG, Silhouette or PDF file. If none indicated, I will send the PDF file.

So what is inside the box? It holds (3) 3 x 3 cards and envelopes. I used the Basket Bunch stamp set (143186) and the Party Animal Designer Series Paper (142738) to make it a complete set.

I did not buy the coordinating die this time, and fussy cut everything out.

Now hop over to the amazing designer, Lynn Streifert. Click on the icon and it will direct you to her blog, but before clicking the icon below, be sure to add a comment! Always love to read them.

Thanks - Sending Smiles Across the Miles

Hello Friends!

Sending Smiles Across the Miles ... a perfect thank you card for my customers that are miles away from me.

The front of the card is using the Carried Away (143608) designer series paper (only available until March 31).

I stamped the medium size balloon with Pumpkin Pie Ink and die cut it out. I stamped the verse "Sending SMILES Across the Miles." with Whisper White craft ink on basic black card stock and added white embossing powder and heat set the powder and trimmed it down. Adhere the sentiment down with multipurpose glue. Then added dimensionals on the back of the balloon and adhere to the front of the card.

I love testing my skills and inventing things will my e-cutter. This time, the test is creating a pop-up word for the inside of the card. Again the possibilities you can do with your e-cutter and Stampin' Up!

The inside of the card is a pop up "THANKS" cut with my e-cutter. It was quite the challenge! It was challenging as to how to create the pop-up and to figure out how the words get folded. Hopefully I can play some more as time permits.

I cut the words out in Soft Sky card stock, and sponge the bottom part of the letters with Soft Sky ink.

I wanted to bring in the Lift Me Up thinlits die in to tie with the theme. The hot air balloons look like it is floating in the air.

Then I die cut some clouds out of Whisper White card stock.

Here is how the card folds and unfolds. My customers loved them, and each of them received 5 "Thanks" pop up card inserts to play.

I hope you enjoyed this project. If you want to receive the pop-up "THANKS" insert, just put a $50 order in, and I would be happy to send you some.

If you are my downlines, you will receive the templates FREE.

SU + e-Cutter = Wedding Card

Hello Friends!

Welcome to my new line of artistian side: Stampin' Up! + E-Cutter = IDEAS!

I have been wanting to start a new line of work, working with Stampin' Up! products and my e-cutter, and have been working really hard with custom invitations/cards. I am starting to get into Wedding Invitations/Wedding Cards/Anniversaries, using Stampin' Up! supplies and my e-cutter.

This design is based from Bella & George of Tattered dies and I changed the bodice so that it looks like a separate dress on her. Although it is not a clear picture of the card, the bodice is shape of a heart.

The groom is cut with our basic black cs. Nothing too elegant.

This card is made for a co-worker who is getting married in April, and he is flying to Korea for a wedding. One of my co-workers asked me to create a wedding card without knowing the colors, and the request was on demand. I only had 1 hour to create this, and I love how it turned out!

The body is cut in Whisper White cs, and sponge the skin color with pink pirouette. The decorative dress is cut in dazzling diamond cardstock, and then I added a solid piece of pink pirouette cs behind the dress to represent the bride's color. I did pink as a sign of "luck". I created a bow for her hair in pink pirouette cs, and added a basic jewel on centre.

Because this is being signed by everyone in the office, the card has 8 panels for people to sign. This can be easily be turned into an invitation card with invite details on it.

Are you getting married? Let me help you in customising your wedding invitations!

CCDT Blog Hop: March Madness

Hello Friends!

Welcome to another episode of the CCDT Blog Hop. This month's theme is March Madness.

For my March Madness, I decided to revert to my trusty Back Pack 2 template ... which can be purchased here.

What does March Madness mean to you? To me, it means Spring, Green, my bestie's birthday, and my oldest turning 24 at the end of March.

Since this post is dedicated to my bestie for her birthday on March 4, I used the Inside the Line Designer Series Paper (DSP) (available during SAB for FREE ... deadline March 31, 2017) as my Back Pack liner. This DSP is perfect for her as she is a designer by trade and does designs for Commercial Carpets.

I changed the style so that instead of one strap in the front as shown in my store. I altered it to have two straps on each side. The front flap is made a little longer and the closure is secured with a button that I made from acrylic but you can use any buttons.

The sentiment on the Back Pack 2 is a pouch to hold a gift card which will be purchased later when I see her. I stamped Happy Birthday with whisper white craft ink and heat embossed the white embossing powder.

The back straps I used 10" of Black Satin ribbon instead of cs.

I want to continue with the Inside the Line Designer Paper and made 3 coordinating cards. Each using the DP with a different element.

Card 1: "It's Your Birthday", the DSP is cut at 4-1/4" x 2" with a small 1/2" strip of Garden Green cs. I colored the DP with our Marvelous Markers and blending them in with a darker color to give some shades and depth. Stamped the sentiment in archival black ink and add the die cut dragonfly.

Card 2: "Happy Birthday". I used the Balloon Pop-Up Thinlits Dies (142753) to cut the image out. To get the exact cutting around the balloons, cut (1) 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" DP to match the front of the CS. Die cut both pieces together. and with your DP, snip away the connecting balloons. Color and adhere the DP to the base card.

The strings were colored with my Garden Green marvelous marker. I stamped the Happy Birthday sentiment and added a die cut bumblebee from the Detailed Dragonfly Thinlits Dies (142749).

With regards to the balloons, they were die cut in Delightful Dijon, Perfect Plum and Garden Green cs with the coordinating inks to add dimensions.

Card 3: This piece was a bit harder trying to get the various shades of greens. When creating this card, I first thought that there was too much green so I add some Pumpkin Pie and So Saffron to the mix. It turned out so beautiful! I then stamped the sentiment "let's celebrate!" from the Balloon Adventures stamp set (142823) in Whisper White craft ink and heat set with embossing powder.

Now hop on over to our next designer, Lynn Streifert by clicking on the icon.
